New Atoms coming from Intel next month

Intel will touch 2.0 GHz. with its Atom processors with two new models next month.
The Atom CPUs, previously code-named Silverthorne and Diamondville and intended for use in MIDs, smart phones and ultra-mobile PCs meant for portable and low-powerapplications have become quite popular with netbook manufacturers. They tend to suck less energy and are lighter than the processors targeted at performance. The ones available now mostly come in the range of 1.2GHz. to 1.66GHz. , including the popular N270.
Now it is rumored that Intel is planning to release two new CPUs as early as next month that will reach the 2.0GHz. Category. They will be under Z-series – the Z550 and the Z515.
The Z550 should follow the patterns of the pre-existing Z500 series of CPUs, which cater to the UMPC and MID end of the market. It is claimed to give 2.0GHz of clocking, 2.4 watts of power consumption, 512KB of level-2 cache, and a 533MHz frontside bus. This is similar in many ways to the 1.86GHz Z540.
The Z515 should focus even more on power-efficiency. It is reported to have a TDP of 0.65W to 1.4W, and with a clocking ranging from 800MHz. to 1.2GHz. with the latest Performance Burst technology – reports Tom’s hardware. It will probably be paired with the low-cost entry-level UL11L, which supports a maximum of 512MB of memory.
Prices are still unknown.
